Yosemite in the Snow

Yosemite in Winter

You know how sometimes you have an idea in your head and it doesn't workout? And then when it DOES you get really excited? I adore how this card turned out. LOTS. LOVE. So there's that, lol.... now let me tell you how I put it together!

I used two different stamps to create my scene, both from Crafter's Companion US's Art Kure range. Half Dome (which is new) and Spruce Tree which is older but still makes me swoon every time I ink it up - it's such a gorgeous tree! I stamped the tree in the foreground and made a mask for it, then stamped the Half Dome stamp in the background twice. I used Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko Memento Rich Cocoa ink for both.

I colored it all with my Spectrum Noir pencils:

mountain: 108, 103, 102, 100
trees: 60, 59, 57, 88
stone bridge: 119, 120, 112, 117
ground: 88. 04, 108, 100
water: 55, 114, 116

I made a second mask for the Half Dome image and put both masks over the stamped images, then sponged on Memento Desert Sand and London Fog inks to create a darker sky. I used irRESISTable colored texture spray in Wedding Dress to create the fabulous falling snow, and the irRESISTable Pico Embellisher to do the lines of snow on the bridge, mountain, and ground.

To finish the card off I added a brand new Classiques Christmas die, just released today in the US (it's available from Crafter's Companion UK too) called Elegant Reindeer. All fourteen of these new dies are must haves for Christmas cards, seriously.... but this deer might just get used year round!

I matted my scene on Shimmering Green Envy cardstock and left it at that - I love the scene so much I didn't want to add anything else!
