This month the Artists-in-Residence at IMAGINE Crafts®/Tsukineko® were challenged to play with our VersaColor™ Pigment Inks, along with the fantastic and versatile IMAGINE Crafts® GooseBumps™ Texture Spray. I was lucky enough to receive this totally gorgeous word die and coordinating stamp set (a Simon Says Stamp exclusive) from a sweet friend, and decided this would be the perfect challenge to use it with!
I started with a piece of Centura Pearl cardstock - it has great weight and shimmer which I thought would work well with my VersaColor™ Pigment Inks. Using IMAGINE Crafts® InkBlushers™ I sponged the Turquoise ink all over the square piece of cardstock.
Next I laid a stencil (from The Crafter's Workshop) down on top of my sponged cardstock. Using the VersaColor™ Pigment Inks again (this time Canary and Fresh Green) I dabbed ink on with th InkBlushers™.
Finally I sprayed GooseBumps™ Texture Spray on and set it aside to dry. Not only did it provide great texture, it added a cool watermark effect!
I made a frame for my piece using Ultra Smooth White card stock; I die cut the word by running it through my eBosser and cut the rest of the frame out with a hobby knife. I stamped the sentiment using VersaColor™ Turquoise ink.
The frame is popped up on dimensional dots for added interest! I am thrilled with how great the inks and texture spray look on the shimmery cardstock and will definitely be making more cards like this in the near future!
