Awesome Chemistry

Truth: this set cracks me up, every time I look at it.  How cute is that mad scientist?  And there's a lab rat, and all sorts of other fun additions and accessories included in the Great Chemistry set from Paper Smooches.  I used the latest Sparks challenge as my jumping off point for this card.

I paper pieced my mad scientist with some Curiosity paper by Authentique.  I really love that at first glance, it looks like the periodic table, but it isn't!  The school theme works well with this stamp, I think.  I colored his face and hair with my Spectrum Noir markers, and added some stickles to the potion in the beaker (bottle?)

I hand stitched the triangular panel to the larger patterned paper panel, using black thread.  I love the way stitching look son cards!  And my new Memento Teal Zeal ink just kind of makes my heart happy :)  You can pick up the stamps, paper, ink, and stickles over at i {heart} papers - gotta love one stop shopping!

I've also played along in a Hope You Can Cling To challenge over on Splitcoaststampers. **More details to come once the challenge is live today, so check back!**

Have you heard about this great cause?

Here's a little info, from the Splitcoaststampers welcome thread:
Splitcoaststampers is proud to partner with the UT MD Anderson Cancer Center for our third annual month long card drive to benefit those affected by breast cancer. Whether your stamps cling to acrylic, wood, or to your hard drive, they hold the power to convey hope and lift the spirits of anyone who sees what you create with them. That is the inspiration for our “Hope You Can Cling To” stamping campaign for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. We are kicking this campaign off on World Card Making Day - a day of celebration of the power of a handmade card. We encourage papercrafters across the globe to put their talents to work creating beautiful handmade cards to send to patients and their families at the MD Anderson Cancer Center!
I hope you get a chance to play along with one or both of these fun challenges!

Ok, I know I'm kinda late to the party here, and I've told you elsewhere online how terrific I think this card is. But I wanted to say THANK YOU once again for making a sample card for my HYCCT challenge. You're fantastic, and I {heart} you. :)
