Snowy Manor (And a Fun Announcement!)

Six more gorgeous sets have been added to the Sheena Douglass A Little Bit Festive collection this week!   I'm sharing a card with my favorite new set, Home from Home.  This stamp set makes my heart happy - I so wish I lived there!

I kept things pretty simple for my card today - I inked up my image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and stamped it on Ultra Smooth White card stock.  I colored it with these Spectrum Noir markers:

House: EB1, EB2, GB8
Tree Trunk/Branches: EB7
Evergreens: DG4, DG2
Fence: BG1, BG2, BG4
Snow: IG1, IG2, IG3

I intended to go back in and add some white to the evergreen tree, but once I looked at it against the green patterned paper, I really liked it.  So I just fussy cut around my image, and popped it up using double sided adhesive foam against an embossed background (to mimic snow falling).

This card fits the bill for TWO challenges this week!  My dotted background means I can play along in the Crafter's Companion US Challenge, to use Dots & Stripes.  This month, there is a $30 gift certificate up for grabs if you play along, so head over and check it out

And remember in the title I mentioned a fun announcement?  Well, the Spectrum Noir Challenge launched today!  HOW FUN!!! This month, their challenge is to create a holiday card (any holiday!), and since my card uses a stamp that is part of the Sheena Festive collection, I think it works.  They're giving away a set of 24 markers and any holiday stamp of the winner's choice (from Crafter's Companion US or UK).  You should definitely go read all the details!

Be sure you're following both Spectrum Noir and Crafter's Companion USA on Twitter, for the latest news and updates!
