I'm sharing some autumn inspiration today to kick off this week! These fall papers, with their dots and stripes, were the perfect choice to play along with this month's Crafter's Companion USA Challenge.
I really have a huge crush on everything Sheena Douglass has created...in both EZ Mount and plain rubber (that you mount yourself). These Autumn Leaves are no exception. I stamped them all using Memento Rich Cocoa ink on Ultra Smooth White card stock.
I used several combinations of the Spectrum Noir markers shown above to color my leaves. I'm definitely one of those people who worries about coloring an image "just so", and that's why I really love to color leaves. When they are changing, the colors are so varied and the patterns so eclectic, there really isn't a wrong way or combination to color with!
After I colored the leaves, I fussy cut them all. Quick tip: for the small, enclosed spaces, it is better to use a craft blade to cut them out before you cut the rest of the shape out. I stamped my sentiment on a die cut oval (another tip: sponge distress ink around the edges prior to removing the shape from the die, t give a crisp white frame).
I used double-sided adhesive foam squares to attach the sentiment panel, leaves, and acorns. I finished off my card with some bling and a ribbon! Make sure you play along with our Dots & Stripes challenge this month...you could win a $30 gift certificate to the store!
It's also theme week this week over at Designed to Color - our theme all week long is Autumn, and today we're focusing on leaves. Head over to see the details, and how you can play along with us
