Sweet 'n Sassy July Release

It's New Release Day with Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps!  The July release is wonderful, with a huge variety of stamps.  I have more than a few to share today, and a giveaway....so get comfy (and be sure to read through the whole post, to see what I'm giving away)!  Ready to see what I've made?

My first card combines a new set, Decorative Frame Toppers, with an old (but favorite) one called Love Sentiments (it's out of stock in clear stamps format, but available in digi). I wanted to make a masculine card that still had an elegant feel to it.  The great thing about the Decorative Frame Toppers set is that while it's designed to coordinate with the new Decorative Plaques die set, you don't HAVE to use it with them - it goes with anything!

This card, using the darling new Cheerleader Cookie set, was SO much fun to make. Especially because my sweet daughter sat down with me to make on of her own (it's farther down in this post).  I colored Cookie with my Spectrum Noir markers, and added fun flock to her pom-pom. I also fussy cut the megaphone, and popped it up on foam tape.  And how long has it been since I've made a tent-topper card?   I had sort of forgotten about them!  Under the sentiment (which is part of the set) I added a little squiggle, from the Decorative Frame Toppers set. That one is SO versatile, I'm telling you!

And here's where my CAS kick started. I think this image from The Sea is stunning, and I wanted it to reall stand out. So I left it alone! I tried adding some ribbon, or twin, but it seemed cluttered. In the end, I just stamped the partial image on one of the dies from the Decorative Plaques Die Set in a different color and popped it up on foam tape. If you were holding this card, it'd be lined up perfectly. For some reason, I could not get the picture to turn out right - it looks like the die is placed higher. Oh well - take my word for it!

Continuing on my white-card-base CAS theme, I made THREE cards using the Sheltering Cherry Blosom set. I could not decide what placement of the branch I liked best...so I didn't bother choosing, and just made a card set!

Each card has a different sentiment from the stamp set; two of them also use images from the Decorative Frame Toppers set (see - I cannot stop using it!).

All three are colored with my Spectrum Noir markers. Yes, there is bleed-through. I think that is part of the handmade card charm, but you could always just add a panel of the backside if it bothered you!

And here is the card my sweet daughter made! She used a sentiment from her stash of stamps, but colored, cut out, and layeed the card all by herself. Even the base. Usually, she has me do all of that - this is the first time she's done an entire card from scratch, on her own. Oh how I love her!

Do you know all about our Virtual Stamp Day over in our Member Company Forums on Splitcoaststampers?  Throughout the day Design Divas will be posting challenge; even though you have all week to play and win a prize, if you play along today you get an extra chance!  Check out all the details and the schedule of challenges (mine is up at 10:00 AM today!).

Very nice! Your Cheerleader Cookie card looks fun & cheery! Your daughter did a great job on her's! Reminds me of some of my cards that I made a few years ago, I liked to angle my layering too and always had a hard time choosing which way to angle them. Sometimes I just made several with the same image so I could do them all a little different & didn't have to choose just one!

Yes, you have been busy! I find CAS very difficult so I admire anyone who can do it well and yours fit the bill! Enjoy this time with your daughter... everyone told me that when my granddaughter discovered boys our crafting time together would be on the back burner. She's 15 now and they were right! Thank goodness I have another young granddaughter who is 6, so I'll have a crafting partner for a little while longer...
