I love living in a house full of avid readers! My husband and I try very hard to pass on to our children a love of books. We use the summer to have fun with "summer reading programs". Memorial Day kicks off my summer reading time (if you want to know what I'm reading, check this out); this week my almost-second-grader starts hers (her last day of school is Thursday). Last year she earned herself free books by doing her summer reading. This summer, she gets an even better program - she'll earn a Nook Color if she hits her mark (we come up with the program ourselves). I'm so proud that my 6 1/2 year old is reading "big kid" books like The Wizard of Oz, and the Harry Potter series. Hubs and I are all too happy to reward her well for a summer spent reading.
Continuing with the Stampendous challenge this month, which is all about summer, I made her this small altered composition book using the Cattus Librum stamp. It's to help her track her reading progress. Underneath the left side of the image is a small piece of velcro that holds the flap closed. She is really thrilled about this little book, which makes me super happy. I kind of want one myself. I'm stretching the limits of the challenge a smidge, I guess....but it is intended for summer use, lol!
As an even bigger incentive, if you use Stampendous products on your project, that entry will count twice, which increases your chances of winning! Due to shipping restrictions, the winner must have a US address. We hope you have a chance to play along with us (you an enter as many times as you'd like!) this month...Happy Crafting!
