Mother's Day Gift Box

I made this card box for my mother-in-law, and I'm working on filling it with cards for Mother's Day!  I really love the elegant look of black-on-kraft.  Here's how I created this project:

  • Create A2 card box (I used this tutorial, found on Splitcoaststampers
  • For the box top, randomly stamp flourishes from the Damask set as desired (tip: arrange stamps on acrylic block, to easily create repeating pattern)
  • For the tag: Stamp oval frame and sentiment from the Mother Knows Best on Kraft card stock; sponge the edges. Round corners of the kraft panel and the black base; adhere together. Punch hole, add brad and ribbon. Place pearls in lower corner.
  • Tie sheer ruffled ribbon around card box (after filling it with cards, tags, or other goodies!) and adhere tag on foam tape.

My sheer ruffle edge ribbon and the great Mother Knows Best stamp set are available over at i {heart} papers.  You can pick up the versatile Damask stamp set at the Gourmet Rubber Stamps store!

Supplies:
Stamps: Damask, Mother Knows Best (Gourmet Rubber Stamps)
Card Stock: Kraft (Neenah), Black (Recollections)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Memento), Brushed Corduroy (Ranger)
Accessories: Pearls (Creative Impressions), Ribbon (May Arts), Jumbo Brad (Unknown)
Tools: Corner Rounder, Scor-Board (Martha Stewart)
