Vintage Cameo

It's May Arts week with Stampendous - this week we'll all be showing off fabulous Stampendous goodies paired with gorgeous ribbon from May Arts.  Today I am featuring this gorgeous cameo and frame stamp.  It's a new Cling Jumbo set that will be available in stores and on the website on July 15.  This card was for my mother-in-law, who just retired from the school system after 32 years!

I stamped my frame image directly onto my card stock, and cut out the area in the middle of it.  On a separate piece of card stock.  I sponged some ink around the edges, and poured a bit of Aged Gold embossing powder directly on to the card stock.  I used my heat tool and melted the powder from underneath - no embossing ink required!  If you look closely you can see that I did the same thing for the flower centers on the frame.

Inside the card I stamped this gorgeous swirl from the soon-to-be-released Cling Jumbo Romantic Border set.  I stamped it spotty on purpose - I wanted to give ti an aged look. I know - shocking! I wanted something to look less than perfect, lol!  Once again I sponged the edges and sprinkled Aged Gold ep and heated it from underneath. I love this technique, and seriously could use it on every card.

Be sure to check out the Stampendous blog throughout the week - they'll e sharing all sorts of inspiration from the design and their in-house designers using May Arts goodness.
