Sweet Little One

It's Design Team Challenge day over at Lizzie Anne Designs. This month, we were challenged to make a baby-themed card; as a bonus we were to find inspiration from a picture over at Pottery Barn Kids. I used the carousel horse image from Treasured Trinkets, a past mix club set, paired with a sentiment from In the Nursery. That set happens to be retiring, so it's 50% off - you should get it while you can!

I used this week's sketch challenge as a place to start for this card. I altered it slightly, but stayed pretty true to its intent. But after I settled on the sketch, I was stumped. This was a totally hard challenge for me. I wasn't in a baby card mood, so I went over to Pottery Barn Kids trying to figure out what on earth I was going to do. Then I saw these cutie pie bunnies, and it just clicked in my head :) I decided to make a gender neutral card, so that I'd have something on hand the next time someone I know shares happy news.
I drew my color scheme from this picture - sort of vintage, cool bluish-greens, a nice neutral background, and a touch of cream. I'm super pleased with the results!

Head over to the Lizzie Anne Designs blog for a peek at what the other amazing design team members did. They are all jaw dropping!

Love those soft colors, and how you used this weeks SC for the layout. Did you add something shiny on the balloons to the right of the horse?
